ABS-CBN
Broadcasting is the largest media company in the Philippines, ABS-CBN
(Alto Broadcasting System-Chronicle Broadcasting Network) was founded
in 1953 and pioneered color TV service to the country in 1966. Today
it runs flagship network Channel 2 and about 24 other TV stations
and 10 affiliated stations. The company also handles Studio 23,
the leading Ultra High Frequency television network with 35 stations,
as well as some 20 AM and FM radio stations throughout the Philippines.
The Filipino Channel (TFC) is distributed in the US through DIRECTV.
ABS-CBN now allows viewers to watch shows on-demand via the Internet.
